To the south of the Austral highway, in the Aysén Region, is the Chelenco Zone, located around the most the country's largest lake, General Carrera Lake, shared with Argentina and formerly known as Chelenco by the indigenous Tehuelches.
This zone keeps perhaps one of the greatest attractions in southern Chile and many of them unknown. On the one hand it They find the main archaeological sites of the Region, especially cave paintings that date back more than eight thousand years.
