The Real End of the World Program
Chile hides one of its best secrets in its southernmost tip, in the region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, where the continental shelf ends and a series of islands begin that bring us closer to the end of the world.
The Journey
The city of Puerto Williams, founded in 1962, is a young town located on Navarino Island in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica region. Navarino Island is a unique territory due to its island status, surrounded by the mythical southern seas, and its untamed nature.
Its landscape is characterized by its pristine nature: forests of native trees, mountains, lakes and rivers that have hardly been touched by humans. This is what you can see on the Dientes de Navarino trek, a 3 to 5 day trek where you walk in almost absolute solitude in front of the immensity of these landscapes, the main reason why tourists from all over the world travel thousands of kilometers to this remote corner of the planet.
In addition to the well-known trekking, on the island you can do various activities such as fly fishing, kayaking, day hikes, bird watching, bike tours, car rentals, exotic wildlife viewing, etc., and, of course, enjoy the delicious local cuisine.
